On (Un)sadness
There’s this really fucked up thing that happens sometimes.
I don’t use the word “fuck” lightly, because this is probably fairly messed up, or at least seems that way. Sometimes the sadness of being single makes me happy. Sometimes the solitude of my life, sitting here in bed at one in the morning, without a soul in the world who cares for me as I’d otherwise like,...

Frustration
I receive a great deal of cause-related email.
I think, at this point, I see perhaps half a dozen appeals on my conscience, wallet, sensibilities, and political leanings every day. I’ve received five so far today. And I read the vast majority of them.
In some ways, I’m glad that I feel educated about things that are important to me. In others, it’s incredibly frustrating...

I’ve kind of wanted to do this for a while. Not via a “sabbatical” necessarily, which implies plans to come back, but simply the idea of jumping off the Facebook grid to see what would happen.
Even after only a...

Block by Block
Idea of the morning:
What if side-street and non-thoroughfare urban communities could, block by block, opt to have their street or parking spaces removed and replaced with a greenway? Just tear it all up. Plant grass with some paths.
Goods:
1.) Reduction in road noise (for obvious reasons), resulting in a more pleasant place to live.
2.) Hello, green space, anyone?
3.) Promote local,...
